AHOA Board Meeting

September 15, 2009

7:30 p.m.

2319 S.E. 30th Street

The Avondale Homeowners Board met at 7:30 p.m. September 15. Present were:

Bonnie Vitale, Gren Condon, Berne Stalzer, and Evelyn Smith. A quorum was established.

Evelyn presented the secretary’s report. A motion to accept by Bonnie and seconded by Berne carried. Bonnie Vitale presented the treasurer’s report. A motion to accept by Evelyn and seconded by Berne was carried. Bonnie stated that Berne Paraiso

has accepted the task of placing a lien on the Blackman property. There will be no charge for this service.

Yard of the Month for August was given to the Paraiso residence, and for September, it was awarded to the Stalzer residence.

Old Business:

Gren presented an update on the vacant properties lawns. He also stated that a neighbor called to say there was a problem with one of the sprinklers at the entrance, and he will check it out.

Berne will follow up on the purchase of a bag of Cold Patch and apply it to an area to test for durability, before more is purchased. The possibility of acquiring some asphalt from the 31st Street project may also be a possibility for future patch work in Avondale. A discussion followed about the care and paving of our roads. Berne said he would get with the City to find out about paving our roads.

New Business:

All of the retention ponds need bush hogging. Gren will talk to Todd and have him call Ken’s Bush Hogging and set a date to come and do the work. Money is in the budget and the ponds are in need of attention.

Future meetings will be each month through December. A Finance Committee consisting of Gren Condon, Bonnie Vitale, Dave Otzel, Berne Stalzer and possibly several more members, will meet on October 5 at the home of Bonnie Vitale. The proposed budget will be discussed at the October 20th meeting. A solicitation letter for new Board members will be prepared and sent to the neighborhood.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. Next meeting date is October 20.
